PBIS is a proactive positive systems approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments in schools. CFISD has 68 campuses currently implementing the PBIS system. Since the implementation of the process, there has been a significant decrease in office referrals district-wide.
Ripple Effects is a computer-based learning tool for students that provides research-based cognitive, positive behavioral strategies. Included in the program are over 350 tutorials that provide engaging and interactive sessions that help students learn about controlling impulses, self-awareness, feelings management, assertiveness, decision-making, and making connections to the community. The program includes character education lessons as well as lessons used as interventions for bullying, drugs and other behavior issues.
The Student Code of Conduct is an online document that specifies the expectations for student behavior, the discipline management techniques that are utilized by teachers and administrators, and the consequences for student misconduct. Service for Success is an opportunity developed by Student Services and the Alternative Learning Center as an option for students to complete their DAEP assignment through service in the community. It is only offered to students who are serving a placement at the end of the school year.
The office of Campus Safety provides direction, training, and performs audits of all instructional and non-instructional facilities in the district. Campuses are audited on a three-year cycle. Emergency drills addressed are lockouts, lockdowns, shelters, evacuations, and fire drills. All campuses are required to complete their emergency drills within a designated timeline.
The Department of Student Admissions, Attendance and Transfers implements enrollment requirements pertaining to residency and guardianship rules. The team develops and provides comprehensive training for ct personnel related to policies and procedures for student admissions. In addition, assistance is provided to parents, guardians, and foreign exchange organizations in resolving issues related to admissions.
The department provides support to students, campus and district personnel, and the community regarding all aspects of the Student Transfer Process. Training is provided to campus administrators, registrars, and district support staff detailing the student transfer policies and procedures.
The attendance officers work closely with school administration and the Justice of the Peace Courts in applying truancy prevention measures. The team conducts home visits for a variety of reasons, including non-attendance, locating drop-outs, and residence checks. Attendance Officers conduct leaver code audits with secondary school registrars and high school drop-out recovery specialists to ensure accurate data for leaver code documentation are in compliance with PEIMS Data Standards for leaver codes.

The Student Services Families in Transition program provides support and services to students and families that have been identified as homeless based on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. Learn more about the Families in Transition (FIT) Program.
